One thing that you should know about me is that I love to make lists, so you'll see plenty of them as my blog progresses. These aren't in any order, just my thoughts randomly collected. My hope are that you love some of the things that I adore. If you don't, leave a comment listing your favorite things and why.

No. 1 The Smell of Rain

I love the smell that is in the air right before its about to rain. Especially when its summer time, and the clouds get all dark, but the sun still pokes through. It's like a giant battle between light and dark in the sky. You can tell the rain is about to come, but you stay outside any way. Ahhhh, I love it so much!

No. 2 The Smell of the Lazy Boy Chair in My Living Room

I know most of you can't connect with this unless you are my sister, but I love it all the same. All my life, there has been a big and comfy, yet ugly Lazy Boy chair in my living room. It smells like my dad's cologne, and it brings back memories of my childhood.

No. 3 The Sound of Soda Fizzing

Now this almost everyone knows. Now, you might think that it is annoying, or have never really thought about it before, but the sound that soda makes just after you open the lid, is so satisfying. If I had a soundtrack of my favorite noises, this would be one.

No. 4 The Feeling of Foam Soap in Between Your Fingers

Yes, I know it sounds very childish, but we have all once in our lives squeezed an excess amount of foam soap on out hands just to squish it. Since we never seemed to have foam soap at my house when I was younger, I would take advantage of the soap at restaurants. Squeezing out the soap, I would often create a little figure and name it. Then I would feel bad when I had to ruin my "art" and wash it away. I don't know, that's just the way I am... I mean was :)

No.5 The Smell of Gasoline

I know its probably not good for you, but I can't help it! It's not like I try to smell it, but when I do, I breathe it in until I cough. I should probably stop

No. 6 The Sound of Fingers Cracking

Yet again, another strange addiction of mine. I know my friend Olivia hates it, but I certainly don't! There was this one time in Elementary school that I cracked my thumbs so many times in one day, that they became numb and I could use them. Oops!

No. 7 Jumping Into a Pile of Warm Clothes

There is an upside to doing your own laundry. Being able to jump in your clothes and not have your mom yelling at you because, "You're dirty, You'll wrinkle the clothes, or You're almost fifteen and need to act more mature!" Yeah well, their mine and I can wrinkle them all I want! HA HA HA HA HA! The downside to doing your own laundry: The tedious task of folding.

No. 8 The Feeling of the Sun on Your Arms After a Cold, Wet Winter

Don't you just love it? It tells you that winter has finally come to an end. You can bring out your super-cute shorts and get tan again. (Ha ha, that's a joke. I don't tan, I burn.) It feels like summer is just around the corner. Then, Mother Nature can't decide what the heck she wants, and makes it snow the very next day. (story of my life right there)

No. 9 The Smell of the Air Vent

Maybe it's just me, but I love the smell of the air vent when the air conditioning is on. Its a sort of musty smell, but fresh at the same time. Again, maybe it's just me.

No. 10 The Smell of Old Books, and New Ones, Too

Being an book nerd, smelling books is a normal part of life. (What!!! You guys don't smell books too??) Anyway, I would have to say that old books are my favorite. Now, I don't mean that ones that are covered in mold and rat poo, but the ones that have aged with time and have been sitting on a book shelf for years and years. Again, I love that musty smell, It gives me a sense that whatever I am about to read is full of wonder and knowledge. Because if its been around for fifty years, then there is most definitely something in there that is worth reading. The pages are crinkled and weathered and I love it. Now, new books are a different story. It's like buying a new car or a new pair of earrings. It is perfect in every single way, and you want to keep it like that. The pages are crisp, and you can still smell the ink fresh from the printer.

Well, that's it for now, but don't worry I have more on the way. My list of favorite things keeps on growing, and I already have part two planned out. My question to you: State and explain one of your favorite things, and why it is so important to you. Thanks! :)

~Ciao!
